The Kominsky Method gets a third and final series

Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin to return

Netflix comedy The Kominsky Method is to return for a third and final series, the streaming giant has announced.

The show stars Michael Douglas as ageing actor-turned-acting coach Sandy Kominsky and Alan Arkin as his agent and friend Norman Newlander.

It was created by sitcom legend Chuck Lorre, the man behind Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly and more.

Lorre said: ‘The Kominsky Method has been a true passion project for me and it’s been an incredible experience to see the warm response from both audiences and critics. I’m excited to wrap up the story with this final chapter.’

The show launched in November 2018, with the second season landing last October.

But production is not expected to resume imminently as  Arkin and Douglas’s ages - 86 and 75 respectively - put them in a high coronavirus risk category.
