'It is the comedy motherland'

Steve Martin and Martin Short are to bring their live tour The Funniest Show In Town At The Moment  to the UK and Ireland for the first time.

It will kick off at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow on  March 9, with dates at the 3Arena in Dublin, The SSE Arena in Belfast, London’s Royal Albert Hall and shows at Manchester Arena and Resorts World Arena Birmingham. 

Martin said, ‘The UK represents more to us than a long flight. It is the comedy motherland.’

And Short added: ‘There are so many brilliant British Shorts.  And as we all know, "It's better to have loved a Short than never to have loved a tall."

The tour is a follow-up to the stars’ An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life, which was filmed for Netflix special that earned four Emmy nominations.

 The pair have been friends for three decades, having met on the set of the 1986 film Three Amigos, and havebeen touring together since 2016.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday in the UK via  My Ticket  and in Ireland via Ticket Master.
