Set Free coming this month

Netflix is to release a new stand-up special from Simon Amstell.

The show, entitled Set Free, will be be the comic's first Netflix Original, although his previous show, Numb, was previously available on the platform.

He recorded the special – originally entitled What Is This? when he toured it live – at EartH in Hackney, East London, in May.

Netflix has announced that it would land on August 20, and released a trailer to promote it.

In the clip, Amstell complains: 'I think the problem is we don't die quick enough ... we just keep living so we have to keep coming up with things to do.'

The description of the show reads: 'Honest, introspective comic Simon Amstell digs deep and delivers a uniquely vulnerable stand-up set on love, ego, intimacy and ayahuasca.'
