Monday August 27

GLASGOW: Graham Fellows leaves his John Shuttleworth alter-ego behind for his new show, Completely Out Of Character, which pops into the Stand tonight after a run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Tuesday August 28

GLASGOW: Kevin Hart kicks off the UK leg of his Irresponsible world tour at the Hydro. He's at the Birmingham Arena on Thursday and Manchester Arena on Friday, too.

MANCHESTER: Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett present a selection of quirky VHS films that they genuinely found at charity shops and garage sales across North America. Highlights include a New Age exercise video demonstrating a process called 'testicle breathing', behind-the-scenes footage from a fishing-themed calendar called Women In Waders, and a 'sexy' hype video for a 1980s pro wrestling duo called The Fabulous Ones. They are at The Patron tonight, the Arnolfini in Bristol tomorrow, then the Soho Theatre in London for the rest of the week.

Wednesday August 29

SALFORD: The cult pub sitcom Early Doors is back… as a live show. Craig Cash and Phil Mealey, who also star, have written a new story featuring the same characters propping up the bar of The Grapes. They play The Lowry until September 24, before embarking on a nationwide tour.

Friday August 31

CARLISLE: Ray Bradshaw kicks off a national tour of his show Deaf Comedy Fam, unique as he tells his stories of growing up with deaf parents in English as well as his first language, British Sign Language. The full schedule is here.

Saturday September 1

LONDON: The ever-arch Tom Allen headlines this month's Live A The (Union) Chapel gig in Islington, with confessional Mae Martin and cheeky Ed Gamble in support.
