The final finalists in this year's Chortle Student Comedy Award have been announced.

Making it through at the second semi-final at the Bill Murray in Camden last night were:

  • Rhiannon Shaw, 22, a character comedian who is studying for a masters in American literature at Cambridge University. Here's the video from her heat:
  • James Allen, 20, studying comedy writing and performance at Salford.
  • Lulu Poppelwell, 27, who is studying psychotherapy and counselling at Regent's University London
  • Jamie Dalgleish, 28, a familiar face on the Scottish comedy circuit who is studying history at the university of Strathcylde.

They join Ania Magliano, Alex Franklin, Bexie Archer and James Trickey, who triumphed in last week's semi-final.

All will now get the chance to perform at the Comedy Arena of the Latitude Festival in Suffolk July.

And the final will  be at Pleasance One at the Edinburgh Fringe on August 13. Tickets are available here.
