The first four finalists in this year’s Chortle Student Comedy Award have been named.

Ania Magliano, Alex Franklin, Bexie Archer and James Trickey all made it through a tough semi-final at the sold-out Bill Murray in Islington, North London, last night.

Magliano and Franklin are both at Cambridge studying English and natural. sciences respectively. Archer is at Salford where she is studying comedy writing and performance, and Trickey is a maths student at Bristol.

The second semi-final is at the Bill Murray on Monday, and tickets are available here.

The final will be at Pleasance One at the Edinburgh Fringe on August 13, with tickets on sale from Thursday, and you can also see the finalists in the Comedy Arena of the Latitude Festival in July.
