Playing an engineer
Tig Notaro is joining Star Trek.
The comedian and One Mississippi star is guest starring in the second series of the latest show in the franchise, Star Trek: Discovery.
She will play chief engineer Denise Reno on a ship called the U.S.S. Hiawatha in one episode.
Production will begin on the second season of the CBS series later this month.
