When's Limmy back on the BBC?

Air date confirmed for his one-off show

Limmy is to return to BBC Two next month – but only in Scotland.

The one-off episode of his Homemade Show will air on Thursday  April 5 at 10pm – but will then be available nationally  via iPlayer.

As Chortle revealed in December, the show had intended to be an online-only affair, financed by crowdfunding and with Limmy shooting everything himself with a camcorder.

But after TV executives saw the footage, they commissioned a show for broadcast.

At the time Limmy –  real named Brian Limond – said he ‘just went ahead and filmed it’ despite fears his DIY approach might not be up to the technical quality required for broadcast, but in the end, the BBC said his footage was usable.

Limmy’s Homemade Show comes more than four years after the end of Limmy’s Show after three series on BBC Scotland.  It promises ‘techno versions of familiar ditties, dabblings in the spirit world and an academic explanation of how comedy works’.

The BBC also announced today that the revamped Generation Game with Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins will air at  8pm on Easter  Sunday,  April 1.
