New novel for Graham Norton

The 'foreboding' A Keeper to be published in October

Graham Norton has written his second novel, a ‘twisted tale of family secrets’ entitled A Keeper.

To be published in October, it follows his 2016 Sunday Times bestseller Holding, and his earlier autobiography.

The story concerns the riddle of a spinster who left the fictional village of Buncarragh to marry a mysterious man from out of town. Less than two years later, she returned with a new baby, but no new husband by her side and silent about her recent past.

The story is taken up when that daughter returns to the village to investigate her past, following her mother’s funeral.

Hannah Black from publisher  Hodder & Stoughton, said the novel was ‘a tense and claustrophobic mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end’ and ‘brilliantly foreboding’.

She told trade website the Bookseller: ‘With his first novel, Holding, Graham demonstrated just what a fine and assured fiction writer he is.

‘We’re delighted to be publishing his second novel later this year. Set in the shadow of castle ruins on desolate Irish coastline, nothing is as it first appears..’

Norton added: ‘ It has been a huge pleasure to return to the world of fiction and spend time in my native Ireland, both past and presen

‘This twisted tale of family secrets and ill-fated romances is both darker and funnier than my first book, but I hope that all the people who enjoyed Holding will be just as happy spending time in the world of A Keeper.’
