Shannon Matthews: The Musical

Big shocker… good taste is not exactly top of the list when it comes to this offering.

Kunt And The Gang, the bloke with a cult reputation for silly expletive-laden ditties has made a full-on concept album about the case of mother-from-hell Karen Matthews who staged the kidnap of her own child for to get some attention.

Other characters include her henpecked common-law husband, a dubious uncle and a copper trying to track down the nine-year-old

The musical has been released as an album and is now available for free on YouTube.

Tim Heidecker Murder Trial

The comedian has been charged over a series of vape-related deaths at an illegal electronic music festival he runs – as you’ll know if you listen to his and Gregg Turkington’s podcast On Cinema At The Cinema.

Never one to back away from taking a joke too far, the ensuing trial is being covered on Adult Swim’s online channels, played out not like a courtroom drama but like the real thing, with technicalities, detailed evidence being delivered to an echoey room with people coughing in the background.

We are five days into this intricate gag. Here’s day one

Regular

When you put Tim Key together with fellow comic David Elms, you’re sure to get something quiet, stilted and delicate… and so it proves with this short film which aired on Channel 4’s Random Acts collection of short films late on Thursday night.

Written, directed and scored by Elms, the five-minute film stars Key as a coffee-shop regular who wonders if the barista, played by musician Laura Marling, ever thinks of him when he’s not around.

The understated and atmospheric piece is now on All4, 8mins 40sec into this episode.

Glenn Wool: This Road Has Tolls

The latest stand-up album from the fine storytelling comedian was released digitally yesterday, Black Friday. It’s priced £7.99 and available from Amazon or iTunes. Here is our review of the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe version of the same show.
