Maria Bamford to make her London debut

Two nights announced for March

Maria Bamford is to play her first ever shows in England.

The comic, who currently stars in the semi-autobiographical Netflix comedy series Lady Dynamite, is to play two nights in London.

They are billed as her first UK appearances – although she actually played the  Edinburgh Fringe in 2003 and 2006.

In her stand-up, Bamford is known for the way she characterises her dysfunctional family and the honest jokes she makes about depression, anxiety and her bipolar disorder. She has also appeared in Arrested Development, Louis and voicing Kelsey Jannings in Bojack Horseman,

She  will be at the Leicester Square Theatre on March 22 and 23. Tickets, priced £22.50, will go on sale tomorrow.
