Bob's Burgers just got supersized into a movie

Big screen version coming in 2020

Bob’s Burgers is to be made into a movie.

And studios 20th Century Fox have announced a very precise release date – July 17, 2020.

Show creator Loren Bouchard told Hollywood website Deadline: ‘We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colours and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s – but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure.

‘In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!

The series – which has just won an Emmy for best animated series – revolves around Bob Belcher, voiced by H. Jon Benjamin, who runs a fast-food joint with his upbeat wife Linda (John Roberts).

Many of the storylines spring from their three children Tina, Gene and Louise, voiced by Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman and  Kristen Schaal respectively.

The TV series airs on Comedy Central Extra in the UK.
