Alan Partridge takes on Belgian prostitutes for an Emmy
Alan Partridge will have to beat off some Flemish male prostitutes to land an International Emmy.
His Scissored Isle special has been nominated in the in the comedy category of the awards opposite Belgium’s Callboys, about three sex workers.
And Taskmaster has been nominated for best non-scripted entertainment
In Steve Coogan’s Sky Atlantic show, Partridge journeys around the north of England to fix broken Britain and make amends after a controversial on-air incident.
It is also up against Japan’s Rakugo The Movie, inspired by the classical storytelling style in which the narrator uses only a paper fan and a small cloth as props; and Brazil’s Tá No Ar: A TV Na TV, a sitcom about the TV industry
Dave’s Taskmaster is up against Columbia’s School For Husbands, Thailand’s Fan Pan Tae Super Fan and Belgium’s hidden camera gameshow Sorry For Everything in its category.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in New York on November 20.
