Gemma Whelan joins The End of the F***ing World

New role for comic and Game Of Thrones star

Comedian and Game Of Thrones star Gemma Whelan has joined the cast of E4’s The End of the F***ing World.

She will play DC Eunice Noon in the darkly comic road trip tale, which is a co-production with Netflix.

In it, Alex Lawther and Jessica Barden  star as  teenagers who ‘find themselves caught up in dark events that cause them to become the prime suspects in a manhunt’ – with DC Noon in pursuit.

Also joining the cast is Wunmi Mosaku, who portrayed Gloria Taylor in the BBC One film Damilola, Our Loved Boy. She will play hardened murder squad detective, DC Teri Donoghue, a criminal investigator who is also on the teen’s tail.

The End of the F***ing World is based on the award-winning comic books of the same name by Charles Forsman and written by Charlie Covell. It is produced by Clerkenwell Films and Dominic Buchanan Productions along with Netflix.

Before the series airs, Whelan – known for her comic creation Chastity Butterworth –  will return for the seventh series of Game of Thrones as Yara Greyjoy.
