Catastrophe star on tonight's panel

Comedian Rob Delaney is to appear on Question Time tonight.

The co-star and co-creator of Channel 4’s Catastrophe will be on the first panel following last week’s General Election.

He appears alongside newly appointed Defence Minister Tobias Ellwood – the Tory MP who battled in vain to save the life of PC Keith Palmer during the Westminster terror attack in March.

Also on the panel is Shadow Foreign Secretary Emily Thornberry, who was accused of snobbery  in the 2014  Rochester by-election over a tweet showing a house adorned with three flags of St George.

Norman Lamb, tipped as the next Lib Dem leader following the resignation of Tim Farron, and Laura Perrins, co-editor of Conservative Woman, are also on the show, which is coming from Coventry.

Boston-born Delaney, who now lives in London frequently tweets political messages to his 1.4million followers and endorsed Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in last week’s election.

Last year he raised almost $70,000 in a bid to oust Republicans who tried to distance themselves from Donald Trump.

And after Trump was elected president, Delaney joined the Democratic Socialists of America, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the American Civil Liberties Union.

Question Time is on BBC One at 10.45pm.
