Ellen DeGeneres returns to stand-up
Ellen DeGeneres is set to make her return to stand-up after being lured back to the stage with a big-money Netflix deal.
The show for the streaming giant will be her first special for 15 years, during which time she has been concentrating on her daily talk show.
She revealed the news in a playful Twitter exchange with the net giant this afternoon.
Netflix tweeted: ‘Looks like it's been 15 years since you did a stand-up special, @TheEllenShow. How about one for Netflix?’
To which she replied: ‘Let me think about it. OK I'm in.’
Details of the show, and the deal, are being kept under wraps – although Hollywood insider side Deadliner reports that it is in the range of the $20million said to have been offered to Chris Rock to return after a long break.
Dave Chappelle, Amy Schumer, Louis CK and Jerry Seinfeld are among the other A-list comedians to have signed stand-up deals with the streaming service.
