BBC Two launches daily topical mini-show from Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin

Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin – the creators of Outnumbered and Drop The Dead Donkey – are making a  new ultra-topical political comedy for BBC Two.

Election Spy will run every weekday from next Tuesday and be recorded on the afternoon of transmission to keep up with the news.

Each episode will be just five minutes long and promises a ‘comic look behind the scenes at the political parties reacting to the days themes, rows and catastrophes.’ No further details have been revealed.

Hamilton andy Jenkin previously created the similar Ballot Monkeys (pictured) for Channel 4 for the 2015 campaign, a half-hour show set on the battle buses of each party which was also filmed on the day of broadcast. They followed it up with Power Monkeys, about the 

Election Spy will  run at 10.30pm, just before Newsnight, until June 9 – the day after polling day
