Bill Bailey has been named as the first headliner for a new comedy festival taking place in Cornwall.

Stand Up in The Wyldes will be the county's first festival of its type, with comedy and music will be split across five stages.

Sam Dunnett, festival co-founder, said: 'It’s exciting to be putting together something that has never been seen before in this region. We’ve got some incredible performers signed up, and this will be an essential date in the diary for comedy fans.'

The event will be held over the bank holiday weekend from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 August, near Bude in North Cornwall, and weekend festival tickets with camping will go on sale next month. The venue,  The Wyldes has been the home of Leopallooza music festival for the past ten years.
