Micky Flanagan beats sales records

Biggest audiences in Newcastle and Sheffield

Micky Flanagan has broken venue box-office records in Newcastle and Sheffield this weekend.

Last Thursday’s show on his An Another Fing… tour Arena sold 9,822 tickets at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena - making him the biggest-selling seated show at the venue, overtaking the record previously held by Peter Kay.

On  Friday he broke Lee Evans’s record of 12,061 for a seated comedy show at the Sheffield Arena.

And the following night, he sold even more – 12,121 – breaking the venue’s record for any sort of seated show, believed to have been held by Little Mix.

This tour is  Flanagan’s first since Back In The Game, the world’s biggest tour of 2013 with 129 shows. It continues until November and the schedule is here.

Meanwhile, his Sky1 series Thinking Aloud is being hailed as the highest performing entertainment show on the channel this year. It launched last month with 189,000 viewers (with an extra 334,000 watching repeats), rising to 221,00 in week two.
