BBC orders a second series

All Round To Mrs Brown’s is to return for a second series.

BBC One has ordered six more episodes to air next year, it was announced as the first series ended last night.

The spin-off from Mrs Brown’s Boys has been attracting around 5.5million viewers to BBC One on a Saturday night.

Creator Brendan O'Carroll said: ‘The whole family are thrilled with the reception the show has received on Saturday nights.

‘Although our focus right now is on the Christmas Specials of our regular Mrs Brown's Boys show, we are excited that 2018 will see party time at the Brown's house again’

Charlotte Moore, the BBC’s director of content said  that show had been a ‘huge hit’, while commissioning editor Alan Tyler added: ‘It’s rare to find a show that is so loved by the audience, but that is simply testament to the genius of Brendan’s creativity… Agnes, Cathy and the family [have] created one of the funniest entertainment shows on television.’

All Round To Mrs Brown’s is made by O’Carroll’s own production company BocPix with Hungry Bear Media, whose directors include TV Dragon Peter Jones.

The show features several members of O’Carroll’s family, including his wife Jennifer Gibney, who plays his on-screen daughter Cathy; son Danny, daughter Fiona and sister Eilish.
