Daliso Chaponda wows Britain's Got Talent judges

Stand-up Daliso Chaponda has wowed the judges at his Britain's Got Talent audition.

He made such an impression on Amanda Holden that she pressed her golden buzzer, taking him straight through to the semi-final.

’I think you’re bloody hilarious,’ she told the 37-year-old, who is originally from Malawi. ‘Self-deprecating, funny, brilliant. It was laugh after laugh. I want you to win the entire series - I think you could.’

In the show, which aired on ITV tonight, fellow judge Alesha Dixon said her face was ‘hurting from laughing’, while David Walliams said that Daliso ‘should be a comedy superstar’ and Simon Cowell said: ‘What you did was so funny, and naughty and unique.’

Before the series started, Holden and Dixon said they hoped a comedy act would win this year’s title.

Here is Chaponda’s hit routine.
