At the first British Podcast Awards

Adam Buxton has been crowned Podcast Champion at the first British Podcast Awards.

His accolade recognises the person who did the most to help and develop podcasts in 2016.

The Adam Buxton Podcast has welcomed guests including Steve Coogan, Michael Palin and Louis Theroux in recent weeks

Best comedy podcast went to the Beef & Dairy Network Podcast hosted by Benjamin Partridge and featuring Mike Wozniak.

The show has just been picked up by Radio 4, which in a comedy first is broadcasting six episodes directly.

Buxton’s podcast took the silver in his category with the Danielle Ward hosted and devised panel show  Do the Right Thing taking bronze.

And Hip Hop Saved My Life with Romesh Ranganathan was named best entertainment podcast.
