THE BOSS: Susan Calman's daytime quiz show makes its debut. In each episode one contestant becomes The Boss - and then has to decide which player is best suited to answer a mixture of general knowledge and brainteaser puzzles… while clinging on to their position of power, which can be challenged by other contestants.BBC One, 2.15pm

LIVE AT THE APOLLO: Gold has a repeat run of series seven stripped across the week, starting with Micky Flanagan introducing Seann Walsh and Jason Byrne, Gold, 10pm

TASKMASTER: The show that brings out comedians' competitive, and inventive, edge returns for a new series with Hugh Dennis, Joe Lycett, Lolly Adefope, Mel Giedroyc and Noel Fielding being given silly things to do by Alex Horne in a bid to win the favour of Taskmaster Greg Davies. Dave, 9pm, although the first episode is available on demand via UKTV Play now.

TONIGHT AT THE LONDON PALLADIUM: Adam Hess gets a big break as the comic on tonight's primetime show, alongside James Blunt, street dance champions, Notorious, and more. ITV, 8pm

BEEF AND DAIRY NETWORK PODCAST: In what's thought to be a first, Radio 4 have snapped up an existing comedy podcast - Benjamin Partridge and Mike Wozniak's delightful parody of a serious-minded, specialist magazine programme. In this first of six episodes, we hear from Dr David Pin from the European Space Agency about the possibility of Cow on Mars, and hear your letters about getting too attached to meat beasts. Radio 4, 11.15pm

COMEDY CLUB AT MACHYNLLETH: BBC Radio 4 Extra's Comedy Club returns for its sixth year of coverage from the mid-Wales festival. For four nights Arthur Smith, Rob Deering and Cariad Lloyd present the best from the event, including James Acaster, Nick Helm, Lolly Adefope, and Jonny & The Baptists, in between programmes featuring other comedians who are appearing a there. Radio 4 Extra, 10.30pm

SARAH MILLICAN: OUTSIDER: Her last stand-up show about moving to the countryside, getting a rescue dog and her struggles with irritable bowel syndrome gets an airing on Channel 4. 10pm.
