Latitude comedy line-up announced

Amstell, O Briain and Ryan headline

Simon Amstell, Dara O Briain and Katherine Ryan have been announced as the comedy headliners for this year's Latitude Festival.

Amstell's appearance comes ahead of his What Is This? tour, which kicks off in the autumn, and follows the release of his first film, Carnage, on iPlayer (Review).

Trigger Happy's Dom Joly will present his stage show, Hello. It's Dom Joly, at the literary and poetry arena, while other confirmed comics include  Chris RamseyJoel Dommett, Seann Walsh, Andy Parsons  and Tim Key.

American stand-up legend Barry Crimmins will also be making a rare appearance in the UK (here is our review of his last visit) while finalists in the Chortle Student Comedy Awards will get to perform their biggest gigs yet. 

Marcus Brigstocke is bringing back his entertaining Princefest, while Robin Ince returns with a Festival Shambles and the kids' comedy show with huge adult appeal, Funz and Games, will also be performing.
