Starry cast for Aardman's new animation

Richard Ayoade, Johnny Vegas and Gina Yashere have all joined the cast of new animated comedy movie Early Man.

The stop-motion film is being made by Wallace And Gromit producers Aardman Animation, and due for release in January.

Eddie Redmayne leads the cast as a plucky caveman, Dug, who leads his tribe against the mighty Lord Nooth – to be voiced by Tom Hiddleston.

Also lending their voice to the movie are Maisie Williams,Timothy Spall plus Selina Griffiths, Mark Williams, Simon Greenall, and Richard Webber.

Ayoade plays a gentle giant called Treebor; Williams plays Barry, whose best friend is a rock; and Spall plays the tribal chief Bobnar.

Aardman veteran Nick Park is directing the film from the company's studios in Bristol, and a trailer has been released today:
