Online comic Arron Crascall to write See Ya Later

YouTube comedian Arron Crascall has signed a book deal.

See Ya Later has the same name as his current BBC There series of sketches and is said to be inspired by his favourite TV show, The Wonder Years.

The format is that Old Arron meets his 13-year-old self to offer words of wisdom on how to be contented and fulfilled.

Publishers Trapeze say: 'Using a mixture of autobiographical narrative, diaries to his 13-year-old self, love letters, early letters to Santa and a collection of his favourite playlists and TV shows, See Ya Later will be as riotous, unique and hilarious as the man himself.'

Crascall said: 'Having my own book is an incredible feeling. It seems like yesterday I was working in a bookies in Dover and now two years on my life has changed in so many ways. I'm beyond excited and can't wait for all my following, family and friends to read See Ya Later.'

The comic has previously built a following on Vine and Facebook, where he has amassed 4.2 million followers. He has also appeared in Stupid Man, Smart Phone with Russell Kane and Drunk History alongside Stephen Mangan.

Publisher Anna Valentine, who signed the deal for worldwide rights, said: 'When I first met Arron, I had to prise him away from the reception and security staff who were all clamouring to take selfies with him. That marked the start of one of the most memorable and exciting meetings I've had, and I knew that day I had to publish Arron's book.

'I've been a huge fan for many years, and think he's one of the most exciting comedians of today. The fact he's built up such an amazing social media platform is testament to his inimitable and loveable brand of comedy.'

See Ya Later will be published in hardback on September 21, priced £16.99. Preorder.
