Louis CK to play an animated cop

In a series he created with Albert Brooks

Louis CK is to star in an animated comedy about the police, which he co-created with fellow comic Albert Brooks.

America’s TBS  network has ordered ten episodes of the show, The Cops, to air next year.

Greg Daniels, who co-created King Of The Hill and the US version of The Office, has been brought on board as an executive producer.

Brooks and CK, who previously worked together on the animated feature The Secret Life of Pets, will play LA patrolmen with shortened versions of their real names - Al and Lou - and the comedy will cover their lives at work and at home.

Brett Weitz from TBS said: ‘We have made the bold decision to put Louis CK, Albert Brooks and Greg Daniels at the forefront of what is going to be a serious push into animated comedy for TBS in 2018. I only hope these newbies know what they’re doing.’

TBS also airs the animated comedy American Dad!, which it picked up from the Fox network.
