Alan Davies gets a fifth series of As Yet Untitled

Eight new episodes for Dave

The Dave channel has commissioned a fifth series of Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled.

David Baddiel, Dave Johns, Melanie C, Sanjeev Baskhar, and Radio 1’s Gemma Cairney are also confirmed  for the eight hour-long episodes of the round-table talk show – although the full line-ups have not been given.

Davies said: ‘In this post-truth era, only Dave would dare run a show in which the guests talk openly about events that actually happened.

‘Many famous comedy faces will appear as well as several talented people I've never heard of. Normally, being 50 now, I can't stand meeting new people but thanks to Dave, I'm overcoming that fear.'

Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, which was broadcast Award in 2016, is produced by Phil McIntyre Entertainment and the new series will launch on February 21.

Dave general manager Steve North said: ‘I am delighted to have a brand new series of As Yet Untitled on Dave, I see it as a vital opportunity to help introduce some of the freshest names in comedy to a broader television audience. Alan continues to be a brilliantly warm host and unearth some incredibly stories out of an amazing array of guests.’

Previous guests have included Stephen Fry, Catherine Tate and Jonathan Ross, Katherine Ryan James Acaster and Romesh Ranganathan,

When the show launched in 2014, there was criticism that it shared similarities with Showtime series The Green Room with Paul Provenza.
