David Walliams joins Teletubbies

As a Voice Trumpet

David Walliams is joining the Teletubbies.

The comedian and children’s author is to be one of the Voice Trumpets on the second series of the CBeebies show, which airs this spring.

Singer and TV presenter Rochelle Humes will also be taking one of the roles.

The two will pair the existing cast that includes Daniel Rigby as well as Jim Broadbent, Fearne Cotton, Jane Horrocks, and Antonia Thomas.

This year is the 20th anniversary of Teletubbies, which was revived in 2015 after an absence of almost 15 years.

Walliams said: ‘It’s really thrilling to be asked to take part in Teletubbies, it’s such an iconic show and it’s watched all around the world by millions and millions of children, it was just too good a thing to turn down.’

The new series comprises 60 new episodes, in addition to the 60 made for 2015 and the 365 in the initial run.
