ITV set to adapt Dawn French's novel

Script work under way on A Tiny Bit Marvellous

Dawn French’s debut novel is being made into a drama series for ITV.

A Tiny Bit Marvellous is being turned into a script by Emma and Beth Kilcoyne, who wrote French’s 2010 drama series Roger & Val Have Just Got In.

The 20010 novel, which topped the bestseller charts, is about a dysfunctional family: 49-year-old Mo Battle, who is finding menopause tough,  17-year-old Dora who feels ‘a big fat loser’, and precious younger brother Peter.

The Daily Mirror reports that ITV drama chief Polly Hill is poised to commission the series ‘withing weeks’

It also claims that 59-year-old French is unlikely take the role of Mo,  as she feels she’s ‘too old’ for the role.
