Ed Byrne is to go on tour next year. More than 40 dates of his Spoiler Alert stand-up show have so far been announced, kicking off on Farnham, on September 27 and running through to Chesterfield on December 13. Click here for dates and ticket links.

BBC One Scotland has announced that its one-off Burnistoun special, starring Robert Florence and Iain Connell, will air on Wednesday December 29. Burnistoun originally ran in Scotland only for three series from 2010 to 2012, with a 30-minute one-off running nationwide in July 2015.

LONDON's Comedy Store is to host its first ever show entirely in Danish. The event, on January 9, is a Comedy Aid fundraiser and follows similar events in Copenhagen and Aarhaus. The bill includes Martin Høgsted, Anders Grau, Tobias Dybvad, Thomas Hartmann, Martin Norgaard and Omar Marzouk.

TONI ERDMANN, a German comedy about a father trying to reconnect with his adult daughter, has been named the best film of the year in a Sight & Sound poll of 163 critics. The movie will be released in the UK on February 3.

NETFLIX has bought the streaming rights to The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, which will be available to UK and Ireland subscribers on New Year's Eve. Cue the Will Smith theme song…
