Raised by Wolves crowdfunder fails

Caitlin Moran falls £120,000 short of target

Caitlin Moran’s bid to crowdfund more episodes of her Channel 4 comedy Raised by Wolves has failed.

The writer had sought an ambitious  £320,000 to make  single extra episode of the family comedy that she co-created with sister Caroline.

But by the time the appeal closed last, the total stood at £200,207. Her Kickstarter page has closed and now carries the words: ‘Funding unsuccessful.’

A total of 3,867 fans had pledged financial support for the project after Channel 4 decided not to renew the Wolverhampton-based show after two series.

Moran has not yet commented on the news.

But speaking to the Radio Times earlier this month she said: ‘Let’s just see if the fans do want it back and if they don’t, that’s democracy.’
