RICHARD HERRING has written his last ever column for the Metro newspaper. He wrote 242 pieces for the freesheet, never taking a week off in five years. Writing on his blog, the comedian said it was the longest job he had ever held down. adding: ‘The paper and I were always unusual bedfellows (but I quite liked the fact that we were at odds and that I was still able - on the whole- to write anything I wanted), but finally we have come to a fairly mutual parting of the ways.’

TOBY FOSTER’s Radio Sheffield programme was named the best breakfast show on the BBC local radio network. The comedian scooped the corporation’s Frank Gillard Awards last night. Director-general Lord Hall said of the awards: ‘This is a most wonderful celebration of all that’s great.. about what local radio does and offers to our communities.’

NICK HELM has re-released his anti-festive single I'm So Depressed (Single For Christmas). He tweeted ‘Alright. Let's not fuck this up guys. There's a genuine chance of getting a song about depression & suicide at Christmas to No.1 this year.’ Listen to it – and buy it – here.

SARA PASCOE has added new dates to her Animal tour, based around her acclaimed book of the same name, which offers a social, scientific and personal insight into issues facing women. The list of dates – in March and April – are here and read our review of the book here.
