Tom Price's Magic move

Comedian joins London radio station

Comedian Tom Price has signed up to present a weekend show on Magic Radio.

The stand-up will take the 3pm to 6pm slots on Saturdays and Sundays, starting this weekend.

Price, who also hosts the BBC Radio Wales panel show The Leak, said: ‘I’m completely over excited about joining Magic. You know you get those videos of eager Beagles being let out of the house on their first walk of the day? That’s me in the Magic studio. I’m exactly like an eager Beagle.

‘And finally, finally I’ve got the chance to spend Saturday and Sunday afternoons talking about whatever random thoughts pop into my head without being stared at blankly by my baffled and frankly long-suffering family. They’re all delighted about this.’

As well as his stand-up, Price has  acted in ITV’s Victoria, BBC’s Torchwood and Sky 1’s Stella.

Tony Moorey, content director at the station’s owner Bauer, added: ‘His show will follow on from Mel Giedroyc’s perfectly, with Tom’s wit and insight into modern life making it a must-listen.’

The London-based MoR station is trying to reverse declining ratings: Lastest Rajar figures show its audience fell more than 18.4 per cent in the past year, and it now reaches 1.63 million listeners.
