David Walliams’s children’s book, Gangsta Granny, is heading to he West End.

The show, which has been developed by the Birmingham Stage Company, will begin at the Garrick Theatre on July 26, where it will run until September 3.

The show has been touring the UK since November, and this week is at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon.

Walliams said he was ‘delighted’ at the new West End dares, which will coincide with the school summer holiday..

He added: ‘It’s my most popular book so it will be wonderful to see the Birmingham Stage Company’s terrific adaptation in dazzling neon next summer.’

The company has  previously adapted Horrible Histories for the stage, too.
