America's Got Talent sticks with TapeFace

Act makes it to the live quarter-final

TapeFace has made it through to the live rounds of America’s Got Talent after using judge Howie Mandel as a stooge in his act.

The British-based New Zealander, also known as The Boy With Tape On His Face, wowed the panel on the show which aired on America’s NBC network last night.

Mandel was roped in to become a giant face as TapeFace recreated Elvis Presley’s Return To Sender.

Fellow judge Simon Cowell said of the act: ‘It’s a bit circusy but its like Mr Bean or Charlie Chaplin, it’s so recognisale.’

While Heidi Klum praised I’m as ‘very clever’.

Last night was the third of four Judges’ Cuts rounds, which also featured Mel B on the panel and George Lopez as a guest judge. An estimated 12 million viewers will have tuned in to see his performance.

TapeFace – real name Sam Willis – now goes through to the live quarter-finals will be held in the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, starting on July 26.
