Gary: Tank Commander is to sing in this year's BBC Proms In The Park.

Greg McHugh's alter-ego will be appearing with Leah MacReah, who plays Julie on the show, and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

The event on Glasgow Green on Saturday September 19 marks the Last Night of the Proms, and will also feature Britain's Got Talent winners Collabro, Scottish mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill.

In character, Gary said: ' Iam pure excited tae be singing a mahoosive duet wi ma pal Julie Jackson at Proms In The Park with the barry BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra Band wi Instruments.

'Whilst folk will obviousleh be aware that I um amazin, what they may not ken is that I also huv the voice ay an angel that can sing, and the range ay a… big golf driving range.

'Bring oan, THE SOANG!'

Part one of the Glasgow Proms will be broadcast live on BBC Two Scotland from 7.15pm until 8.30pm, with the whole evening on the Red Button and live on BBC Radio Scotland.

Tickets for Proms in the Park, which Glasgow City Council's deputy leader Archie Graham, called 'one of the most special events on Glasgow's cultural calendar' are now on sale priced £15.50 (£7.50 concs) here
