Comedians' films vie for award

Short films featuring Nick Helm, Lolly Adefope and Spencer Jones are all up for a respected TV industry award.

The Christmas shorts Adefope and Jones made for Sky and Helm's iPlayer short Elephant, which was released as part of the Funny Valentines strand, have been shortlisted for best scripted online short in the Broadcast Digital Awards.

At the same awards, Drunk History, Celebrity Juice, Murder in Successville, Karl Pilkington's The Moaning of Life, ITV2 gameshow Release the Hounds, and Tattoo Fixers are up for best entertainment programme.

Alan Partridge's Mid Morning Matters and E4's already multi-award-winning Chewing Gum are in the running for best scripted programme alongside the dramas The Aliens, Behold The Monkey, The Enfield Haunting and Thirteen.

Sky1's You, Me and the Apocalypse is up for an award for its marketing campaign.

The accloades will be handed out in London on June 29.
