It will visit Hammersmith's Eventim Apollo on November 14 with at least 15 other dates, including Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Sheffield planned too.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday. Here is the tour schedule and box office links.

Other characters returning for new sketches include Irish nurse Bernie, Geordie Georgie and Essex girl Sam.

Last year, Tate told Alan Carr on his Chatty Man show: 'I am thinking of doing a live show of Nan and sort of bringing back some of the characters…. I'd like to do that.'

Carr asked if that was an exclusive, and Tate replied: 'It is because I've never really said it out loud. No it is. I'd like to do it. I've never been on tour. It must be great.'

Tate has rarely been seen performing comedy live since her 2001 Edinburgh Fringe show that got her noticed by TV executives.

On Saturday she co-hosted the BBC's Shakespeare Live! event from Stratford with David Tennant – an event that also included Al Murray playing Bottom opposite Judi Dench and Tim Minchin appearing in a 'To be or not to be' sketch alongside the Prince of Wales.
