Student award: London People's Choice poll opens

Votes have now opened for the People's Choice award for the London heat of the Chortle Student Comedy award.

The heat was won by Roya Shadmand, a third year English Literature student from Kingston, whose set was based on the hang-ups inherited from her Iranian heritage. She goes straight through to the semi-finals.

Now you can choose which of the other acts will go forward to a second vote to fill the two People's Choice places in the semi-finals. Polls close at midday on Tuesday.

The last vote, for the Lincoln heat, was won by Brian Morton, we can announce today.

Other student comics who triumphed at their heats this week were in Southampton on Thursday and Michael Odewale in Brighton on Friday.
