Steve Coogan to play the Devil

In a new adult cartoon movie

Steve Coogan is to be the voice of Satan in a new adult animation movie.

He will star opposite Transparent’s Jeffrey Tambor as God in The Adventures of Drunky.

The plot revolves around a barfly – to be played by Sam Rockwell – who gets caught up in a bet with the divine powers, and must travel through heaven and hell to save Earth.

Nina Arianda, Dave Attell, John Leguizamo and rapper Tyler, The Creator also have roles.

Director Aaron Augenblick told the Hollywood Reporter: ‘The Adventures of Drunky is everything I love about cartoons. It’s hand-drawn, surreal and funny as hell.’

Alan Partridge once described the Devil as "an evil, evil idiot.’
