Triple nomination in BBC radio awards

Comedy writer John Finnemore has notched up three nominations for prestigious BBC radio awards.

Cabin Pressure, his airline-based sitcom, and his new series of two-hander dialogues, John Finnemore's Double Acts, are up for best comedy. Meanwhile his sketch show, John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, is up for best scripted comedy with a live audience.

The nominations are in the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2016, which also recognise comedy programmes.

Cabin Pressure has another nomination in the awards, as Roger Allam has been shortlisted for best actor in an audio drama for his role in the sitcom's finale, which aired as a two-parter on December 23 and 24 last year.

Other nominees include Andrew O'Neill, Dead Ringers, Justin Edwards, and Toby Hadoke.

This year's shortlist will be judged by a team of industry experts including Ruth Jones, with the winners announced on January 31.
