Annie Hall named 'funniest movie script ever'

And Holy Grail the top Brit flick

Annie Hall is the funniest movie script ever, according to the Writers Guild of America.

Woody Allen’s Oscar-winning screenplay topped a list of the 101 best-written comedy movies compiled by the organisation.

Allen also had six other scripts on the list: Sleeper, Bananas, Take the Money and Run, Broadway Danny Rose, Love and Death, and Manhattan.

The next most featured screenwriter was Harold Ramis with five: Groundhog Day, National Lampoon’s Animal House, Ghostbusters and Caddyshack and Stripes.
