PEEP SHOW attracted 1.2million viewers when it returned to Channel 4 for its ninth and final series last night. The figure beat C4's slot average of 1.1million, and was 130,000 up on the overnight figures for the opening of series eight three years ago.

MEL GIEDROYC is joining the cast of the live Sound of Music performance to air on ITV this Christmas, playing Frau Schmidt. The show – which also stars Alexander Armstrong as Max Detweiler and Kara Tointon as Maria – is being directed by Giedroyc's sister Coky.
