U-turn as Trevor Noah takes over

Comedy Central is to air The Daily Show with Trevor Noah in the UK - four months after announcing it was dropping the show.

The channel will air the topical comedy half-hour from September 29, the day after Noah makes his debut in the States.

The UK broadcaster had been airing the progamme from its American stablemate on its Comedy Central Extra channel since 2012, while Jon Stewart was at the helm. But in May, it announced it was dropping the show as it was ‘moving away from talk shows and focusing on other genres of comedy'.

However, executives seem to have had a change of heart, and the show will be airing at 11pm on weekdays once the South African-born Noah takes the hotseat.
