AUSTRALIAN comic Ronny Chieng, who has just completed a run at the Edinburgh Fringe, is to join the Daily Show with Trevor Noah. The Malaysian-born comic, who is performing at the Soho Theatre this weekend, has been announced as a new correspondent for the Comedy Central show along with US performers Desi Lydic and Roy Wood Jr. They will join the existing team – which also includes the likes of Lewis Black, Al Madrigal and Kristen Schaal – when Noah makes his debut as host on Monday, September 28.

AMERICAN stand-up Margaret Cho has announced five London dates as part of her worldwide PsyCHO tour. She plays the Leicester Square Theatre from December 16 to 20.

MANCHESTER-based comic Freddy Quinne has released an album via Bandcamp - comprising only examples of his compering from the Edinburgh Fringe.

PATTON OSWALT, Sarah Silverman and Tig Notaro have joined the cast of Maria Bamford’s Netflix comedy series Lady Dynamite. The show, which counts Arrested Development’s Mitch Hurwitz among its producers is based on Bamford’s chaotic life as an actress and comedian, and is due for release next year. Other cast announced today include Mira Sorvino, Jon Cryer, Brandon Routh, Dean Cain, and Jenny Slate.

SUBMISSIONS have opened for the LOCO London Comedy Film Festival,inviting shorts and feature films that have not been screened in the UK before. The festival runs from April 14 to 24 next year. How to submit.
