Co-starring Diane Morgan

Andrew Lawrence is to record his own BBC sitcom next month.

The comedian has been fiercely critical of the broadcaster, calling it a ‘biased organisation’ with 'deeply ingrained militant liberal politics' and slating positive discrimination on panel shows.

However, he will be back on Radio 4 this autumn with a four-part series There Is No Escape, the title of one of his previous stand-up tours. He writes and stars in the show.

Chortle first reported the commission in September last year, but now more details have emerged.

The BBC explains the premise as: 'Andrew is completely dissatisfied with his lot: work, home, his girlfriend, all of it. He constantly aspires to something better, to escape from this dreary life. But his attempts to improve himself will have to be a lot less feeble if they are ever going to succeed.'

There Is No Escape will co-star comic Diane Morgan, and be recorded at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios. Click here to apply for free audience tickets.
