James Corden signs £3m deal

Two more years for US chat show

James Corden has reportedly signed a £3million deal to present his US chat show for another two years.

The comic, 36, has proved his worth on CBS’s The Late Late Show, attracting audience of more than a million to the 12.30am slot.

And he has also been a hit online, with more than 200 million views on YouTube. CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler this week said that viral videos are now a vital part of the late-night landscape.

Corden has also attracted a slew of A-listers including Tom Hanks, David Beckham, One Direction and Mila Kunis, who exclusively revealed on the show that she'd married Ashton Kutcher.

The new deal, reported by the Daily Mirror, will take the 36-year-old’s time on the show to 2020.

Before the show launched in March, Corden said: 'We want to make a warm show — a show that never feels spiky because so much of what you see and read and are polluted by is not pleasant right now.'

And although Hollywood was initially sceptical about his signing, he won over critics, and was nominated for Critics' Choice award just two months into the job.
