Three arena gigs for Greg McHugh's creation

Gary: Tank Commander is to play three arena gigs at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro.

The creation of Greg McHugh will take to the 13,000-seat arena in October 2016, following the success of the Still Game revival, which grossed £6million from 21 sell-out shows at the same venue last year.

This show, billed as ‘Mission Quite Possible’ promises to be ‘the United Nations meets Eurovision – an all fighting, all singing, (mibbe) all dancing (mibbe) extravaganza’.

In character, Gary, said: ‘It’s gonna be radge! Liiiiiiiiike. Seriousleh, ah shouldnae even be daein this, it is toap secrets but…. ken that way, it’ll be a laugh, so - jist…..aye! come along!!!’

Gary Tank Commander ran for three series on the BBC from 2009 to 2012. The first for BBC Two Scotland, the others for BBC One Scotland. The series was later repeated nationwide on BBC Three.

This stage revival will also feature cast members Leah MacRae as Julie, Paul James Corrigan as Adam, Robert Jack, Lance Corporal Jacko Jackson and Scott Fletcher as Charlie, with more characters to be announced.

The gigs are on October 20 to 22 and goes on ‘pre-sale’ from the Hydro on Monday then on general release on Wednesday.
