Sky1 renews comedy-factual series

Sky 1 has ordered a second series of comedy-facutal show 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy.

The show will again feature Irish TV presenter Baz Ashmawy embarking on a series of adrenaline-fuelled adventures with his 70-year-old mother, Nancy.

Shooting will take place in Germany, Scandinavia, Mexico, Japan, India and Texas, the broadcaster has revealed.

The news comes on the same day that it was announced that 50 Ways has been nominated for an RTS Award in the Popular Factual and Features category.

Ashmawy said: ‘After all the amazing things Nancy did last series, I'm as surprised as anyone that she's still alive!

‘Trying to kill my mum was the best fun I've ever had and now I'm thrilled to get the chance to try again.’

The first series was sold to more than 100 countries, with the Discovery Channel planning their own version for the US.

Adam MacDonald, director of Sky 1 said: ‘It’s fantastic to welcome Baz and Nancy back to Sky 1. The universal themes of the series and the joy of the mother and son relationship mean that we’ve all taken them to our hearts and I can’t wait to see what they get up to next.’

Production has begun on the second series, which will air on Sky 1 later this year.
